[00:00:07] Speaker A: Okay, Pop back in Holland again.
[00:00:09] Speaker B: Yeah. And we had a great and awesome trip to Congo.
[00:00:13] Speaker A: Congo. The Democratic Republic of Congo.
[00:00:16] Speaker B: Yeah. To Kinshasa, the capital.
And it was a blessed trip. A blessed trip.
[00:00:21] Speaker A: A very special trip. You've been coming there for how many years now?
[00:00:24] Speaker B: Oh, I've been going there with Opa. With Johan masbach in the 80s. I think it was either 84 or 86 that I went with him for the first time.
And, yeah, I've been going there, I don't know, well over 30 times. And we had so many wonderful meetings, conferences, crusades, everything there. And a big high point was when I went with Uncle David. Yes, David masborne, my brother. 91 or 98, I think it was 94.
[00:00:54] Speaker A: 94.
[00:00:55] Speaker B: 94, 95. And we had the. You know, where we always drive by that huge soccer stadium. And, you know, they had.
Muhammad Ali had a big fight there, a Rumble in the Jungle.
Yeah, that was a big, big worldwide event. And in that stadium, we had a big crusade in the 90s.
And I remember we prayed and anointed seven. I think it was 7,000 pastors and leaders in the church. And it was 7,000 at least. Leaders, pastors, ministers, that we gave a book of Johan Masbach, and we anointed them all with oil.
And I'll never forget that as they were walking around the stadium and David and me were there together with two hands, and it took so long to anoint all with oil. But it was something, a moment we will not forget. And I believe they will not forget.
[00:01:53] Speaker A: Yes, that was a high point.
[00:01:55] Speaker B: Yeah. And then in, what was it, 2004 or five, you know, there was a big meeting organized here in Rotterdam in the big event hall, the Ahoy.
And that was done by this apostle, Tambalakoki. But at the last moment, he did not get his visa to come. And so he told his spiritual sons, he said, go to Masbach and ask them if they can preach and take over the meeting. And they were coming for Papa, but Papa was with the Lord. And. And so I came, and I'll never forget that meeting. And that started the connection with this great man of God. And after that, I went to Kinshasa to meet him. And, yeah, we just bonded in the spirit. It was just a community. Yeah. A divine connection. And ever since, I think on a yearly basis, I maybe have skipped one year, but some years I went double. We've been having great, great meetings all over Kinshasa and especially in Ngaba, which is the slums of the city. And he has really a calling for that area, and he believes that the
[00:03:06] Speaker A: turnaround will come because he has been born there.
[00:03:09] Speaker B: Right. He comes from that area. And, you know, by now he himself has come out. I mean, he sits with the President.
[00:03:16] Speaker A: He prays for the president.
[00:03:17] Speaker B: He prays for the president.
[00:03:19] Speaker A: A couple of weeks before we came, the president asked him to come to him, to pray for him and for the nation.
[00:03:25] Speaker B: So he's on one end, he is with the high society, but he has never forgotten and turned his back to that area where God has called him. And that's why I have such a deep respect for his dedication and devotion to his calling to those people who are the outcast of the city. I mean, when you drive there now, you know, I can explain it, but if you're not there to witness it, I don't think you can have a real picture of what it's like, how that city runs, how that. Because it's a city by itself. I mean, it's millions of people, so many people, and how they just live there together. It's like a garbage belt.
And to come out of that, you would say it's impossible. Impossible. But he believes, and he keeps saying his quote is, n' gaba must change by the power of the Gospel, by the power of Jesus Christ.
And he's been doing it for so many years. And you do see a change, and you do see that many have come out and have been transformed by the power of the gospel. So it was awesome. Yeah.
[00:04:34] Speaker A: And now he has an office there.
[00:04:36] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:04:37] Speaker A: That's beautiful how he.
[00:04:38] Speaker B: Oh, he was so proud to show us that place, that he finally has his own office there where he has
[00:04:45] Speaker A: the Zoe Bible College and different meetings and prayer meetings, and they are really a blessing church.
[00:04:51] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, yeah. He says.
[00:04:53] Speaker A: He says it.
[00:04:54] Speaker B: We are, we are, we are the blessing. We are.
[00:04:56] Speaker A: Because you saw there was a big poster also behind, you know, at the time, same at the stage. It says, johann Masbach Blessing International Church. The whole name. I like that how you said that during the preaching, that if you know those names of those churches, I tell
[00:05:13] Speaker B: you, in Congo, I have heard the best names.
And then if you hear the name, you would think there is a mega worldwide ministry there, you know, and then if you get there, it's tiny and there's never been an international speaker, and they have never been out of the city limits, but yet they call it International Ministries and all that.
It's a vision. It's a vision, but lovely people.
[00:05:41] Speaker A: And we had a great conference There.
[00:05:43] Speaker B: Yeah, we arrived Monday evening and then Tuesday, right away, morning, it's starting.
[00:05:48] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:05:49] Speaker B: And you know, Mobutu, some presidents ago, he built that monument after a monument here in Holland, in Rotterdam.
Yeah. With a restaurant on top. And he built that tall building. Building, or what is it? It's not a building.
[00:06:07] Speaker A: It's not a building. It's more like a tower.
[00:06:09] Speaker B: A tower.
And then it has bridges that lead to it and a conference hall there.
And under that walkway he had set up a stage. So whatever the weather would be, people would be sitting dry, especially for the conference. And then on the left side, there was an open square where he had a big stage for the crusade for the even, I thought, because it's in the center of town. It was really a great location.
[00:06:40] Speaker A: Great location. And they arranged it really well. I mean, the stage looked amazing. The posters, the sound was really good. So, yeah, they did a great job. The meetings were very, very, very special.
I mean, the people came were all almost pastors, right?
[00:06:57] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, a lot of pastors. A lot of them. And others were workers and ministers and workers in the church. But also his were there from England, Holland, France,
[00:07:12] Speaker A: Ivory Coast.
[00:07:13] Speaker B: Yeah. That he has planted churches, Angola, all over the place. And they all came together there and we were there with them. And then I feel so humbled that I'm the one to minister and you to bring the word.
[00:07:27] Speaker A: And I'm so young. I mean.
[00:07:29] Speaker B: Yeah, but they sit there.
[00:07:30] Speaker A: But they sit.
[00:07:32] Speaker B: They make their notes.
[00:07:33] Speaker A: But they are also, you know, when you preach, they are interactive.
[00:07:36] Speaker B: Yeah. Great encouragers.
[00:07:38] Speaker A: Great encouragers. And that's. Yeah, that's.
[00:07:40] Speaker B: But Jaconia, you know, they asked me one time what makes a good preacher? And they were expecting all kinds of characteristics of the preacher. And I said, a good crowd.
[00:07:51] Speaker A: That's true.
[00:07:52] Speaker B: And it's true because the crowd can draw the anointing out or they can put a cork on it, you know, I mean, that's true.
[00:07:59] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:08:00] Speaker B: It really makes a difference what crowd it is. And so, yeah, I remember that message I gave. And about eye has not seen, ear has not heard. But God has revealed it to us by his spirit. And we talked about the moments that God reveals the deeper things.
And I think they were touched and could recognize themselves in those moments and value those moments more. But your word about the old, the new use for old trophies, I think that was.
[00:08:31] Speaker A: It really touched his heart of the apostles.
[00:08:33] Speaker B: Tell us about it.
[00:08:34] Speaker A: Yeah, I had like a couple of messages and they were, you know, it was like a build up, a Build up. I started with the story about Eleazar, how his sword was stuck in his hand.
[00:08:45] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:08:46] Speaker A: So also the word of God needs to.
[00:08:48] Speaker B: And you made it practical to today that the word must be stuck to our hand and wine with us.
I enjoyed that message.
[00:08:57] Speaker A: And then after that message, I went into the light, how God wants to show his light through you and how he wants to work through you. Because the theme was the restoration of the church. And then it had, like, one sentence, it says the power of faith.
And so. And that was with the light. And then after that, I went into the old trophies, new uses for old trophies. How the stories of old, how the miracles of old, the things that God did in the past, that those stories may be like an encouragement also to have victory over the new things.
[00:09:32] Speaker B: Yeah. I love that story. That.
Who was it?
[00:09:35] Speaker A: It was actually was King Joash. No. Yeah, King Joash. Yeah.
[00:09:40] Speaker B: He used the old weapons that were hanging in the temple. In the temple to gain victory over his enemy because he didn't have any
[00:09:49] Speaker A: weapons to hold himself. And it was also from King David's victories.
[00:09:53] Speaker B: Yeah. We need to get this message on.
[00:09:55] Speaker A: My really beautiful message. And that was also really an encouragement for them because they all have stories of old. They all have miracles from the past. They all have those great experiences with God in the past.
And the preaching was really about how you can use those old trophies to have new victories in your life. And then in the end. And that's, I think, the most beautiful thing about this message is that not only those stories, but your life needs to be a trophy for Jesus.
And then he was knowing the apostle, he said, and then he was standing there after the preaching and prayed. And then I went back and he was standing there and he was saying in French, my life is a trophy. And let my life be a trophy for others to see, to also have victory in their life. So that his life, you know, all the things that God is doing through him and all the things that God
[00:10:53] Speaker B: is doing, it helps him with all his suffering and sacrificing and all that, to see that there's value there for future generations. Now. Their music was awesome.
[00:11:03] Speaker A: Yeah, I think that's the best music in Africa.
The Congolese music is.
It has a certain kind of beat, but also the people are so happy. They are dancing, they are laughing. And if you see those, you know, when you look to the left and you look to the right, you see the poor, you know, the people walking, they don't have much. And then you see the Children of God sitting there happy and blessed and believing also for, you know that.
[00:11:31] Speaker B: And they feel rich in the Lord.
[00:11:32] Speaker A: They feel rich for. Yeah, in the Lord. So yeah, that's what I love about Congo.
[00:11:38] Speaker B: I enjoyed the evening crusades, of course, and it was packed, the square was packed.
And we arrived and they were singing, dancing, worshiping, and then we went into the message.
And you know, many people you see on the billboards there, around the city, around the city they always have conferences and crusades about prosperity and how you can become rich. And then you see them in their beautiful suits and their expensive watches and things.
And people want that and it attracts a crowd. I can understand that.
And there's reality and truth in it that the gospel does make you prosper.
But on the other hand, you know, if the lives are unchanged, then it's a one sided message. And the Lord gave us, and gave me especially that time to encourage, yes, of course, about the freedom that God gives, but also not just every service to ask forgiveness and continue the same sinful life, but to really get out of that life and through the power of the gospel and have a different life, a new life, a life as a child of God who's walking in the light out of the prison. And so we took time for the altar calling really to let the Holy Spirit work in the heart, for deep repentance and really a change and the power to come, to rise up out of that lifestyle.
And it was packed. And it wasn't for blessing, it wasn't for miracles. It was just to come to the Lord.
And I know after that the apostle came to me, he said, john, this is what will change our nation. This is what will change this city if we become new creations who live new, new lives.
[00:13:34] Speaker A: But that's also the calling of our ministry. It is, it is everywhere we go.
[00:13:38] Speaker B: It starts with Papa Masbach.
[00:13:39] Speaker A: Yeah, with Papa Mas. Because we heard a great story in Congo. We didn't know that Papa Masbach, Johan Masbach, had a great revival in Congo. Brazzaville, that's a different country.
[00:13:50] Speaker B: Yeah, that's the French part of the Congo on the other side of the river.
[00:13:54] Speaker A: And in the past he had a great revival there. So people know Masbach?
[00:13:59] Speaker B: Yeah, I didn't know that, but it was that we met that pastor at the hotel lobby when he heard we were there. And he gave the testimony of that previous revival there. And now he wants us to come again.
[00:14:11] Speaker A: To come again.
And that's also, it's always been our calling that we want people to have A changed life and to, you know, to change their life, to look more like Jesus.
[00:14:26] Speaker B: Yeah. And I think that's why many times years after we've been there, you hear of revivals, you hear of ministries that have been birthed because people really receive a new life during the meetings that we have, and they really get changed and then they rise up and then, you know, who knows what God can do through a life that allows him to live his life through them. Big ministries have evolved out of that. So that's wonderful. And yeah, of course, we prayed for miracles for the people, too. And we heard many great testimonies.
[00:15:02] Speaker A: Great testimonies. And, yeah, they were in French, so some. I remember I was filming one and she was talking in French and I couldn't understand anything. No.
[00:15:12] Speaker B: Because it's not only French, it's also mixed with our dialect.
[00:15:16] Speaker A: But people were on the left and on the right of my. You know, on my side, they were saying, whoa, wow.
And I was like, what's happening? What is she saying? And we're going to listen. We're going to hear those stories. Of course, God did great miracles during the services.
[00:15:33] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:15:33] Speaker A: And so.
[00:15:34] Speaker B: Well, I remember when we left, you know, we had the last meeting. We visited his office in that place, and then we had the meeting there, which is always a little bit sad to say goodbye again. You don't know if you'll see each other again.
And then changing in the hotel to get ready to fly, I got a call and it was the brother of the president.
[00:15:56] Speaker A: We were already late.
[00:15:57] Speaker B: We were late. I had just undressed to take a shower, and he was standing in the lobby and asked if I could come down to just meet him. And I had to say no. No. Which I don't think he hears a lot. There are not a lot of people who said no.
But we had a nice conversation.
And so he asked if he could invite us to come back also.
So, yeah, always open doors there. Always open doors.
[00:16:22] Speaker A: Praise the Lord.
[00:16:23] Speaker B: It was a blessed trip, brother. And I'm so thankful for the ministry. Yes. And that makes all this possible and that we can go to all these nations to preach the gospel. And it's good work. And we must continue until Jesus comes. Amen.
[00:16:36] Speaker A: Right. Amen.
